About

About

We started this site because we got tired of wading through sales pitches and tutorials written by people who've never tried working from a jobsite trailer.

We're contractors who got curious about whether AI could actually help with the paperwork side of the job. Turns out it can—for some things. We figured other GCs and subs might want to know what we learned without sitting through demos or signing up for software trials.

We've worked with construction managers to bathroom remodelers and all the subs and vendors that come along with those roles. We know what a submittal log looks like at month eight of a project. We've written the same email to the same sub three times asking for updated insurance certs. We've watched the clock hit 4:55 on bid day with two trades still not called in.

What We Do Here

We test AI tools on the kind of work that actually eats up your day. Chasing paperwork. Answering the same questions. Digging through specs to find one paragraph. Writing letters you've written a hundred times before.

When something saves time, we show you how to set it up and what it costs. When something's not ready or not worth the hassle, we say that too.

What We Don't Do

We're not going to tell you AI is going to change everything. It's a tool. Like your estimating software or your phone. Useful for some things, useless for others.

We don't push expensive software. Most of what we cover is free or cheap. If something costs real money, we'll tell you whether it's worth it for a contractor who's actually watching the budget.

We don't forget about security. Your bid numbers, your client lists, your financials—that stuff matters. We talk about what's safe to put into these tools and what isn't.
